OCR advanced computer art diploma for Mac

Designed for creative individuals who wish to qualify for the UK’s recognised standard in vocational graphic design. Core subjects are:

Mac OS X

In this module, you will learn a number of basic skills that will provide a good foundation for using Mac OS X in your everyday work.

Photoshop - industry standard imaging

Level 1: work with tools and features to edit images using Adobe® Photoshop® CS2.

Level 2: Advanced tools and features available in Adobe® Photoshop® CS2 to enhance your ability to create accurate masks and image effects, retouch images and automate repetitive tasks.

Illustrator - industry standard drawing

Level 1: draw and manipulate simple shapes to create logos. You'll also combine text and graphics to create advertisements.

Level 2: create complex illustrations, print documents without errors or colour mismatches and prepare illustrations for the web

QuarkXPress - industry standard publishing

Level 1: use QuarkXPress® to lay out professional quality single and multiple-page documents that include text and graphics, and are designed for professional printing and publication.

Level 2: build on your existing skills to learn some of the more advanced features of QuarkXPress®, as well as learn techniques that will allow you to improve your workflow.

Acrobat

Use Adobe Acrobat® to convert documents to PDF, and will customize those PDF documents for interactive online use as well as for commercial printing.

OCR Level 3 Certification e-Image Production

Create artwork using all the above packages that will be put forward to OCR for external assessment. Success will result in a Level 3 certificate.
